The Capesize market demonstrated a positive trend, with the 5TC rising to USD 53,864 supported by tightening tonnage and increasing cargo volumes across transatlantic routes, despite softer conditions in the Pacific where C5 rates fell to USD 16.275 per T. The Panamax market saw stronger dynamics in the Atlantic, pushing the P5TC up to USD 21,662 per day amid heightened demand and firmer fixing levels, while the Supramax and Handysize markets experienced stability, with marginal gains reported. Colombia's coal sector is on an upward trajectory as exports rise, particularly to Europe and Israel, amidst a tightening supply picture that could boost Atlantic tonne-mile demand, although production constraints remain a critical issue.
