Dry bulk vessels on orderbook remain dominated by traditional fuels, with scrubbers at 21.3% and alternative fuels at only 4.2% across the fleet, indicating very limited uptake of LNG, methanol, or biofuels. Tankers display slightly higher diversification, with 26.3% scrubbers and 6.3% alternative fuels, though most segments still rely on conventional propulsion. Containers stand out with markedly stronger adoption of alternative fuels: 46.2% alt fuel share compared with 13.6% scrubbers, driven by LNG and methanol use especially in larger TEU classes. LPG orderbook shows 56.8% alternative fuel share versus 4.1% scrubbers.
