It has been quite the day in London as the UK has, once again, seen a changing of the guard. In his last act as prime minister, Keir Starmer gave an upbeat address outside 10 Downing Street, declaring that his “work is done” and that he had left the country in a better place than it had been in two years earlier. Starmer then headed to Buckingham Palace to offer his resignation to King Charles III, who accepted it before asking Andy Burnham to form a government, officially installing the Makerfield MP as prime minister.
